How Helping Hand Fund Began...
In 2002, Victor Migliarese began volunteering his free time to help cancer patients. Because of his experience in hair hair loss, one of his jobs was refurbishing old wigs for cancer patients with out insurance, or no means of buying one. Victor did this for almost two years, driving 64 miles picking up old wigs, refurbishing them, and driving back to drop them off for cancer patients. He thought...why should a person who has cancer, and no insurance or money, have to settle for a used refurbished wig? These people had no say in there illness, why not in how they looked and felt about themselves while going through treatment. Victor began to save his own money to buy wigs for cancer patients. After a few months, he decided he would do much better if he started a help fund for such people. Victor researched, and looked into having a non profit fund to help people. He named the fund Helping Hand.
Helping Hand Fund Organization was created as a resource for everyone with medically-related hair loss, or a need for help during a hardship. It is our mission to empower everyone to become whole again by making what they need available who may not have a means of obtaining what they need.
Since the birth of this fund we have had success in our goal of helping people with...Hair Loss Items, Breast Prosthesis, Medications, Pre-cooked meals, Thanksgiving, Christmas, that we sometimes may take for granted.
Our goal is to assist as many as possible in changing their
lives by improving their outlook and empowering them with a
degree of self confidence that will allow them to face the world
with renewed self esteem.
